Bday update! 02 May 10 @ 13:42

I thought I should post a wee update as it is now May & I’m aiming for at least once a month. Not a lot, I know but I’m busy & I’m not that great at sitting down to write stuff. That’s why I love twitter. 140 characters, takes no time at all and you can do it on the bus.

So! My Birthday eh… it was pretty brawsome. Had a few folk round to the flat on Tuesday night (actual birthday was on Wednesday) and we had some drinking and chatter and music etc. I didn’t have the memory card for my new camera(woop) yet so don’t have any photos from the party, I thought I took some on the internal memory but alas I cannot find them!
It was just after midnight and I heard the “haaaapppy biii…” flowing round the living room door and I could see candlelight reflecting off the wall and I was like YAY CAKE! and then Kerry came round the corner holding my ukulele with a satsuma on it, and 4 candles in the satsuma. Nae cake but it was HILARIOUS! It was awesome. So that’s why I should always make myself a cake. lol. I did make a bitchin’ chilli for everyone to munch on though.
Then we all went to Split at Cabaret Voltaire for some healthy drum & bass. Did a bit of a dance, scared some dancers… came home! There were only about 1 girl to every 10 guys so it was a bit annoying. Guys seem to take up a lot more space when they’re dancing and are well rude but it was fine. Finally got to bed about 5.30am… had been awake since 6.30am because Dean had been working in the morning!! Crayzee. My Dad thought I would be at work and so phoned me at 9am to say happy birthday. Which was very nice of him but I was soooo tired. I don’t think he quite believed it was me on the phone because I’d lost my voice a bit.
Eventually we were all some kind of alive and went for breakfast/lunch (brunch I suppose eh?) at Moo Cafeteria. It was soooo tasty. I got the veggie breakfast stack but with bacon too. mmm the red onion chutney was delicious. Highly recommend any locals head along there! Once our hungers were satisfied, we headed down the the Botanical Gardens and the glasshouses were all free that week!! Yay! We couldn’t get into the victorian palm house though because I think it was being repaired. We saw 2 cats and took lots of pictures.
The day ended with party hats & a Nintendo cake and me falling asleep on the sofa about 8pm. Totally lovely day!

Then on Friday some friends and the fam went for a meal & drinks down in Leith at the Waterfront, and once the “grown-ups” went home the rest of us went to the Rose Leaf. COCKTAILS IN TEAPOTS!!! I ♥ it there. Really want to go back soon. The speakers had hats on!!! Plus the landlady has the same birthday as me. It’s meant to be!

My mate Chris has been staying at mine for a few days and we made this amazing chocolate pudding last night. It was like a mini soufflĂ© and all gooey in the middle. I want to make more but I have no eggs! Need more eggs. Eggs are amazing ♥
